Where available, players may build houses in which they can possibly rent and store equipment. There are high costs associated with owning a house, so buyer beware. You may ask an immortal to add and subtract your name or friends' names (with their permission) to house room titles, but cannot make any other changes to housing room titles or descriptions. You may ask for zip strings to decorate your house, but usable items (furniture, fountains, etc) may only be changed by spending a coupon.

If your clan disbands for whatever reason or if the clan runs out of funds, the clan halls will poof and all the items in the clan hall will become unowned. Always be conscientious of this because there will be no reimbursals due to this happening.

Individual characters, level 15 and above may purchase up to two houses (primary rooms, not total number of rooms). GMs of clans may also purchase up to six houses (again primary rooms, not total rooms) to be used as clanhalls by using the CLANBUILD command. (See also: HELP CLAN, HELP CLAN HOUSING).

On-going Housing costs are assessed and charged to bank accounts on a nightly basis. You can use the CATALOG command to see what items are added to the general maintenance costs of rooms and doors.

  • NOTE: - Housing costs for items that are considered DONATIONS are a multiple of their usual housing costs.

If you run out of funds and your house poofs, the items in the house will be moved to its connecting room outside, and marked as owned for a period of time. Be very conscientious of this because there will be no reimbursals for the housing or the items in the house when this happens.

Many houses come with items already installed in the rooms. Often these items will not have a long description so they don't add to the clutter of the room but are mentioned in the room's description. Again, the CATALOG command will alert you to any of these that aren't FURNITURE and will add to the cost.
