From: Rufus Title: Area Update 2020/07/31 Posted On: Friday, July 31 2020, 01:16PM --------------------------------------------------------------------------- AREAS - Abilene: bug/typo fixes - Amaranth seller returns to the game - Beowulf: some additional balance changes to better reflect risk vs reward - Some gold earrings in med are now actually gold - The orkney old wife will set the flag even if she's shot from a separate room - SL2: reduces Bane of Dagda's hit points, Dian isn't so chant-happy - more than one player could enter Niflheim at a time, this has been fixed - improved Admiral Hanno messaging - improved Lotus eater messaging - Some inaccessible rooms have been flagged so they don't count toward the VISITED count - Finely crafted scutum now makes your ac better instead of worse - Misc updates to India and FIWar Morrigan's Maze Update - the mystery seeds feature has been expanded - aura of purest white has updated stats and has been templated - no other items have changed stats, but certain items will highlight in corpses where they wouldn't have previously. - hopefully Morrigan will no longer load people into empty graveyards. - phoenix egg was sending bug reports, that's been fixed. - attuned charmies are dealt with properly when dishing out XP - the vision of death is fairer in combat - improved banshee messaging - fixed typo'd whois Herodotus - All XP routes received a large overhaul making Herodotus far easier to maintain and update. - Some mobs have been removed, some have been added. - TELL HERODOTUS COMMUNITY will additionally report how long before the community xp route mobs will reset. At the time of testing this hpapens at between 4-6am system time on Mondays. This might change gradually over time because working with time is bloody confusing! - You shouldn't see any other changes, please report any odd behaviour via the usual channels. LEVELED AREAS UPDATE: - Arabia - Romania - Ireland - Frisco/Abilene - Sherwood (partial) ARABIA - 'Town' area more amenable to those in the very early levels. - Arabian Desert now suitable for levels 5 through 10. ROMANIA - Romania has been reimagined as a level 10-15 area. - You may find Vlad and his cronies a bit tougher these days. - A handful of objects updated with shiny stats. IRELAND - The town and west of the crossroads is now suitable to support multiple simultaneous low level players - The area south of the crossroads (the swamp) is now suitable for the 6-10 range. - The map south of the crossroads no longer loops on itself. - The Dun is now a sub area suitable for levels 44-49 with some level 50 mobs in the mix. - The Underhill (west of the crossroads) is now suitable for level 41-45. Do note that this includes everything, so if you're escorting newbies, you may want to not let them get stopped by the wild boar that lives there. - The nucklavee encounter has changed somewhat, including the fish. It's a little bit different (wouldn't necessarily say harder) - Modified many items in the area. - Blackthorn ring is now a reasonable rent with different stats and templated. - Nucklavee claw and shield updated. Not templated. Claw no longer requires Agnes to change it into something good. FRISCO/ABILENE - The SF Mines subarea has been developed into a level 6-10 band. - A new path has been made from SF (mine area) to Abilene. - Abilene: has been adjusted to fit the level 11-15 band, the level 50 mobs and the Kansas Jail subarea. SHERWOOD (partial) - Sherwood has started to move toward a more focused set of levels and the work is ongoing. Expect more in the next couple of updates.
