From: Rufus Title: Patch 2020/08/08 Posted On: Saturday, August 08 2020, 04:51PM --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - fixes weird bug with inspect where you were inspecting items with + mind. it would spit back part of your descriptor's output buffer. - inspect will show ammo properties for ammo, single ammo and bundles - fletching yields a quiver now instead of 2 bundles of arrows - The bundles you have after this update will still work. I'm leaving them in the DB - New combines will produce 1 quiver instead of 2 bundles - That quiver will way .1 kg (instead of .01 -- which was a mistake) - The quiver will be size '3' - the bundles could be up to size 20 or down to 1, so this is really a net positive most of the time. Normal quivers are size 7. - Each quiver will have 40 arrows (same total arrow yield as before) - The rent before was 40 (one for each arrow, or 20 per bundle). Bundles reduce their rent as they are used, ammo does not. So I split the difference .Each quiver of 40 will be 20 rent, but it'll be 20 rent if you have 40 arrows or 1 arrow. Over time this should be an overall benefit - This solves the 'igniting' issue as well (no burning bundles! yay!) - keywords for the intoxicating, earthy scented liquid are fixed - Inject will be re-enabled. This works again but you can only use it on group members. We will review what medications are in the game to use with this. PROSPECTING AND MINING These come into the game pretty early in their dev cycle. In order to find somewhere to use the mining tradeskill, you can prospect. Typing PROSPECT will toggle your prospecting ability on or off. This adds a delay (skill lag) to every room you move through so only turn it on when you really want to start looking. Use PROSPECT again to toggle it off and return to normal movement. Prospecting can locate areas where you can find things to mine and can also give low-level mining skillups. In order to make use of a resource once it's found (with the prospect command or by sheer luck), a miner must USE either a miner's shovel or miner's pick. Both of these have been made usable and both are available in SF. (Totally fake prompt)> use pick You use a miner's pick. Sweat coating your brow, you think you may have found something. You've unearthed a small block of ore. You can no longer gain skill from mining this location at this time. You can blindly walk around and 'use pick.' However if you start attempting to mine areas that don't have resources, you will be hit with a lengthy skill lag. If there's a resource nearby, the skill loag will be low. The mechanics behind locating resources and such will be changing but there is one place with some limited resources in the MEDIEVAL ERA where you can mine some limited resources. The two things that can be obtained currently via mining are the building blocks (pun intended) of the smithing skill.
